Will there be little hotties there and stuff? Yeah, well then count me in. Let’s camp in the bushes. Sweet.

Summer Camp

Dude, what’s the name of your festival? Summer Camp? But it’s not summer, dude, it’s spring. Ha ha. Duh. Who cares? Will there be little hotties there and stuff? Yeah, well then count me in. Let’s camp in the bushes. Sweet.

I watched Steel Pulse play before us. They kicked ass. True Democracy was the first reggae album I ever bought. These guys are getting up there in years but they have not slowed down a bit. They played Chant A Psalm A Day and Leggo Beast. I love them. I wanted to tell them but they went right to their bus as soon as they got off stage. Bye, guys. You rock.

They also erased all of the presets on the monitor board, which meant our sound check lasted 45 minutes and was never right. No keyboards. No ukulele. No chance of really making the music we’re capable of making. But my drums sounded great!

Keep up with all things Brogan, ALO or otherwise, at his official website.

Throughout 2010, ALO drummer Dave Brogan will regale us with tales from the road as Animal Liberation Orchestra travel around behind their sweet new album Man of the World, both as headliners and as primary support for Jack Johnson’s summer/fall tour.

  1. Dave,

Just discovered these writings of yours. Good stuff.

Like you, I love that old Steep Pulse album True Democracy. Didn’t know they still toured.
