This classic warns the ladies about musicians who want to get their hands across their “state line,” and begins with the road dog couplet, “Well the times are getting hard for you little girl/ I’m a hummin’ and a strummin’ all over God’s world.” By the time Ian Hunter wrote this one in 1975 he’d seen plenty of tour action with Mott The Hoople, as had his guitar foil here, former Bowie sidekick Mick Ronson. We couldn’t think of a better tune to end Groupie Week with.
