The Rhythm Devils

The 2010 configuration of The Rhythm Devils is manhandling the Dead catalog in a most rock ‘n’ roll way, and introducing some promising new joints like “Strange World,” ”Wrecking Crew” and “The Center” (with the last two sporting brand new Robert Hunter lyrics written for the band). Led by Grateful Dead percussionists Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, the newly minted Devils lineup features Tim Bluhm of The Mother Hips (guitar, vocals), Davy Knowles of Back Door Slam (guitar, vocals), Sikiru Adepoju (talking drum) and Andy Hess (bass). While still a new entity, this group seems promising to say the least. Dennis has a huge feature with insights from Mickey, Tim, Davy and Andy, and we present some choice shots from Suzy Perler from a Rhythm Devils show in NYC earlier this year.

  1. I saw these guys twice last summer. I can’t tell you how fun they are. Just like the good old days, maybe even better! Just lovvvvve the new Hunter tunes. So glad these folks toured seperately from Furthur, they can do more damage that way. (-:
