She's So Mad (Live In Philadelphia)

Comments Off on You Gotta See This: The London Souls

All the good things of a rock duo (expanded to a trio live) are nakedly apparent in The London Souls – immediacy, muscle, intertwined agenda. What Tash Neal (guitar, vocals) and Chris St. Hilaire (drums, vocals) do is akin to heavy petting with your clothes on – a little rough and messy but it turns one’s crank with alarming efficiency. Hailing from New York City, their name actually hints at the fine echoes of early UK-based Hendrix and early Thin Lizzy in their sound. Once again, Jake Krolick knocks it out of the park with his video voodoo, capturing the high energy mood at MilkBoy in Philly. And as Krolick observes, it’s triply amazing how on it and healthy Nash is despite a serious car accident last year that required brain surgery. Rock ‘n’ roll still needed him, and it’s all the more reason for folks to dig into The London Souls’ music on the asap. You can catch the band on tour right now opening for the North Mississippi Allstars in February, including dates this week in San Diego (2/6), San Francisco (2/8 & 2/9), and Portland (2/12). See the full itinerary here. Their sophomore album, Here Come The Girls was announced for January release but doesn’t appear to be available yet. You can however check out a few cuts here
